Ms. Autumn, a hot air balloon from the US, will be flying over Hamilton Lake for Balloons over Waikato 2025.
This year, two special-shaped hot air balloons coming in hot from the United States will light up the skies over Hamilton for Balloons over Waikato 2025.
Alongside a fleet of local and national balloons with vibrant designs and a “larger-than-life presence”, Ms. Autumn and Owlbert Eyenstein will take centre stage at the event and create magical moments for event-goers to see.
Ms. Autumn was crafted in 1994 and is part of a rare series of balloons representing the seasons. Owned and piloted by Colin and Brittany of Endeavor Ballooning, Colin’s passion for flight began in childhood and he has since flown balloons in more than six countries.
Owlbert Eyenstein stands at 30.5m tall and is a “towering owl” charming audiences with its design and “sheer size”. The hot air balloon is owned and piloted by Gary Moore, a commercial pilot who has flown in 24 countries.
Balloons Over Waikato Trust chairman Steve Gow said they were delighted to continue the excitement of ballooning in Hamilton, with an incredible line-up of balloons and entertainment for the community.
“We extend our sincere gratitude to our Strategic Partners – Hamilton City Council, Zuru, WEL Energy Trust and Grassroots Trust. And our legacy partners, Hamilton Airport and the Glenice & John Gallagher Foundation, for their continued support in making this event a reality.”
Balloons over Waikato takes off on March 18-22, and the balloons will fly every morning from 7am at Innes Common, Hamilton Lake.
