Even as the winter temperatures start setting in, it's the hottest ticket in town. The Autumn HomeXPO this week offers visitors a wealth of options, ideas and inspiration for everything from a dash of DIY to a full-blown home renovation.

Autumn HomeXPO, a key event within the wider Waikato Show, has plenty on offer for every homeowner to add real value to their biggest asset, says organiser Rebecca Hannah, as well as solutions for those with an investment property or two.

"We've got it all this year and visitors can expect to chat directly with designers, manufacturers and service providers to identify the best solutions for their properties," says Hannah.

With thousands of exciting new ideas and products for renovating, building and decorating, HomeXPO is also the ideal place to prepare for changes to the Residential Tenancies Act which comes into play on July 1.

In terms of these new provisions, landlords must improve the insulation, ventilation and other aspects of homes made available to rent. With multiple vendors providing innovative and cost-effective solutions, visitors can access advice and guidance from the likes of GreenStar, while vendors including HRV, HAVC-I and Harrisons Energy are ready to step up with the necessary products and services.

Five heat pump vendors, five insulation vendors, seven ventilation providers and three double glazing specialists provide multiple options to get homes sorted and ready for the best winter ever.

The scope of HomeXPO becomes clearer when considering all the categories in which exhibitors are demonstrating goods, services and products: ranging from alternative accommodation (Sanders Cabins), to bedding (Adjusta Mattresses and House of Beds), from the floor (Harrisons Carpet, Flooring Design, New Flourish flooring) to the ceiling (Hometech skylights, LED Zero lighting), from construction (Urbo Homes, Cambridge Homes, Sentinel Homes, Fusion Home Builders) to sale and purchase (Harcourts, Ray White, Risk Advise, Arrow Smith, NZ Sure), from water reticulation (Waterflow, Aqua Direct) and drainage (Eaves Water, Four Seasons Gutters), there's more than a little something for everyone with a home, dreams of having a home, or intentions of improving one.

"We're super excited to show off two new products never seen before in New Zealand," says Hannah.

"The first is slow release, thermal mass gas fires from Denmark and Switzerland that naturally radiate heat for more than 12 hours once the gas has been turned off, all with only one load of wood (approx. 7kg). The second is a foldable trailer from Stow-A-Trailer. Imagine being able to fold your 6x4m trailer away to a size of only 37cm, all by simply turning a handle," she says.
