Animated children's adventures no longer need to be shallow and one-dimensional.

It simply isn't enough to make a good-looking film, a strong storyline with identifiable characters is a must these days.

Epic tells a wonderful story of a battle between good and evil on the forest floor.

Dr Bomba
(voiced by Jason Sudeikis) is an eccentric scientist who lives a solitary life on the edge of the forest.

He is convinced tiny people live in the forest who protect it.

There is little respect for his views and he is left on his own to pursue his wild theory.

Everything changes when his estranged daughter Mary Katherine (Amanda Seyfried) returns home.

She finds herself in the forest at the wrong time and gets caught up in a fierce battle between the good and evil little people.

Shrunk down by Queen Tara, MK finds herself the guardian of a pod which must be protected until it flowers.

With the help of a veteran Leafman warrior, two goofy mollusks and a young maverick, MK must keep the putrefying Boggans at bay.

If she should fail in her mission, the forest will be allowed to die.

With Boggan leader Mandrake closing in, MK and her friends must call on all their allies if they want to prevail and save the forest.

And Dr Bomba just may hold the key to helping them.

This is a wonderful children's adventure with fun, drama and suspense, all in the right measures.
