With two other well established tennis titles on the market, EA's Grand Slam Tennis 2 mostly doesn't provide anything we can't already get elsewhere.
But it is the only tennis game to include all four Grand Slam venues. And where others have had to settle for generic grass court settings to simulate Wimbledon, EA's franchise shows off the famed All England Club in all its glory.
Also exclusive is John McEnroe's appearance among an impressive roster of stars that includes Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, Sharapova, Borg and many others, although some current female big names are notably missing. Control methods vary, one uses button presses to choose shot type, while the other gives you full control using the right analogue stick. There is also PS Move support, but no Kinect compatibility.
While the likes of Top Spin 4 have extensive career modes, Grand Slam Tennis 2's bland career mode is centred around the four Grand Slams and a few matches. Nice visuals and accessible controls can't hide that Grand Slam Tennis 2's lackluster career places it about mid-court in the genre.
