The Uncovered series from Ministry of Sound has produced some of the most exciting tracks of recent years, despite each song being stripped back from its original to a quieter, more raw version.
Moving away from the usual MOS modus operandi of dance beats, the Uncovered series collects covers by top alternative/indie/rock/dance/pop artists of other such artists.
There are too many highlights on this two-disc compilation to list all of them, but favourites include Little Roy covering Nirvana's On a Plain, Johnny Cash doing Depeche Mode's Personal Jesus and Adele's Bob Dylan cover.
Plus it's hard not to sing along to the multi-star Aussie version of Nick Cave's Ship Song, however much that cover makes me cringe.
A great way to discover new artists and old songs, this is well worth checking out.
