PRISTINA, Kosovo (AP) Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic says Kosovo Serbs should vote in upcoming local election so that they can form a country-wide political body to preserve Serb interests in the ethnic Albanian-dominated country which seceded five years ago.
In the Nov. 3 poll, Serbs are to take part in a vote for mayors and local assemblies for the first time since Kosovo seceded from Serbia.
Dacic's visito to Kosovo on Saturday comes at the height of political campaigning.
Relations between the two sides remain tense despite efforts led by the European Union to overcome the dispute. The formation of an assembly of Serb municipalities has been agreed upon by Kosovo and Serbia in EU-run talks.
Many ethnic Albanians fear that a Serb assembly will split the country along ethnic lines.
