An Australian kite surfer had surgery for facial fractures and a blood clot to the brain after strong winds dragged him inland from a Central Coast beach. He also fractured his ribs and pelvis.
The 48-year-old was at Ettalong Beach when a southerly lifted him 15m and dragged him through bushes and a wire fence before he struck and bent a street sign.
