Works by 40 artists will enhance the Waiheke landscape during Headland Sculpture on the Gulf, January 28-February 20. The exhibition is located along a 2km coastal walkway, starting at the Matiatia Wharf - or use the shuttle bus that stops at five points ($5 adult, $2.50 child). The exhibition is open 9am-6pm daily and entry is by donation.

Starry, starry nights
In the 60s and 70s, backyard astronomer, artist and actor Peter Read brought the excitement of outer space into New Zealand homes via the TV show Night Sky. Until July 31, Wellington's Carter Observatory celebrates his life and work with the exhibition Peter Read - The People's Astronomer.
