It took only four minutes for tickets to next February's Wellington rugby sevens to sell out this morning.
Tickets went on sale at 9am this morning and by 9.04 all tickets on sale to the general public were gone.
It is the 10th successive year Wellington's stadium has been sold out for the event, the second in the International Rugby Board's eight-tournament world series.
Wellington sevens general manager Steve Walters said organisers would be keeping a particularly close eye on ticket scalping.
"We know lots of fans missed out on tickets this morning, and this means we will take a hard line with ticket-scalpers. People should be wary if they buy tickets from a non-authorised seller."
