NRL: Tahu set for Eels return - report

SYDNEY - Wallabies centre Timana Tahu is set for a sensational return to the NRL after reportedly agreeing a three-year contract with former club Parramatta.

News Limited have reported the 29-year-old, who quit the Eels in 2007 to take up a lucrative contract with the Australian Rugby Union (ARU), will return to the club for the start of the 2010 season.

Tahu has endured a difficult two years since making the switch to rugby, due to injury and loss of form.

He was recently dumped from the Wallabies squad to play club rugby alongside Lote Tuqiri, who was sacked by ARU last month.

Tahu, who won an NRL grand final with Newcastle in 2001, enjoyed a successful three-year spell with the Eels between 2005-07.

Parramatta officials were unavailable for comment.
