Rugby: Chiefs win gives fans $3 flights

The Chiefs kept their fans wondering until the last few minutes last night but finally emerged with a 3-point win against the Brumbies and a precious home semifinal.

Scores were locked at 7-7 at halftime but a second-half penalty gave the local side a 10-7 victory.

As a result of the win Air New Zealand will offer domestic flights from the Waikato and Bay of Plenty for $3.

The airline promised to offer domestic seats for the same price as the score-difference between any winning NZ team and its opponent in a Super 14 game this weekend. The offer applies to flights from all centres in the franchise area.

Aucklanders and Cantabrians will be vying for cheap fares tonight when the Blues and Crusaders clash at Eden Park. The fares will be available from Monday.
