The first of two memorial services will be held today for Warriors player Sonny Fai.
The 20-year-old is presumed drowned after disappearing in the surf at Auckland's Bethells Beach in January.
He failed to resurface after diving in to rescue his brother and four cousins.
The service is being held at the Samoan Methodist Church in Otahuhu at 10am.
A celebration of his life is also planned tomorrow at Bethells Beach where family will unveil a plaque in his honour.
