KEY POINTS:
Skipper Jean Le Cam was rescued from his capsized yacht west of Cape Horn by fellow French rival Vincent Riou in the Vendee Globe solo around-the-world race yesterday.
Le Cam was reported by race officials to be healthy and aboard Riou's boat, PRB.
Le Cam spent almost 18 hours trapped inside his overturned yacht before managing to free himself, and Riou, the first on the scene, after circling the yacht numerous times, pulled alongside in choppy seas and recovered Le Cam.
