KEY POINTS:
New Zealand umpire Billy Bowden will replace Pakistan's Asad Rauf for the first cricket test between England and India beginning at Chennai on Thursday.
The International Cricket Council said Rauf's visa application could not be processed in time for the first test.
It was anticipated Asad will be able to stand in the second match of the series in Mohali, starting on 18 December.
The other ICC appointments for the series - on-field umpire Daryl Harper of Australia and match referee Jeff Crowe, of New Zealand - remain unchanged.
