KEY POINTS:
New Zealand coach Paul Temple will wait until the last possible moment before naming his team to play Denmark in today's crunch group A under-17 World Cup match.
He was hoping by late last night to make a call on which goalkeeper he will put out but will wait until nearer kick-off before deciding whether inspirational midfielder Annalie Longo will play.
First choice goalkeeper Charlotte Wood was left on the sideline for the opening match against Canada as she continued her recovery from bruising in her back. In her absence Victoria Esson did a magnificent job leaving Temple with a difficult call.
Longo went down with what appeared to be cramp late in the game against Canada but was later found to have sustained a calf injury. She has sat out training since but Temple hopes she will be fit to play.
"We will wait until we have to name the team but it might be she misses out. In that case, we have a few options with Rosie White, Leah Gallie and Hannah Wall all capable of filling the role," said Temple.
Temple has promised there will be no holding back.
"We are aiming for three points. We won't be going out for a draw. We are going to attack the Danes. That will give us more confidence."
Given the strong finish New Zealand turned in against the Canadians, they should have plenty of that. With better finishing the Young Ferns will be in with a chance against a Denmark side who will be disappointed with their opening 1-1 draw with Colombia.
Today's early game between Canada and Colombia holds plenty of interest with Temple hoping Canada can win, thereby throwing the second Group A qualifying spot wide open.
If New Zealand can get a result today, their hopes of progressing will then depend on Wednesday's clash with the Colombians in Wellington.
