Rotorua's Margaret Kelly can't say enough about a local programme designed to help the elderly stay balanced, upright and safe.
The Sport Bay of Plenty programme in Rotorua - Balanced, Upright and Safe - attracts dozens of people each week helping them retain their physical strength and balance.
The programme was recently given a $5000 boost by the Rotorua Energy Charitable Trust to continue the classes at a subsidised cost.
Mrs Kelly, 78, said it was a great programme.
"I've stayed quite fit and active and the classes are wonderful. I really believe in it. It's grown into a community where we're quite supportive of each other," Mrs Kelly said.
