Kiwi Rage, who made an instant return for a new owner with a win at Gore yesterday, will now head to Melbourne.
Kiwi Rage was bought by Jenny Mahncke, of Melbourne after he won his previous start at Invercargill on August 18.
"He will go to Melbourne this week. He will still be a maiden in Australia," Kirk Larsen, his Branxholme trainer, said. Kiwi Rage will be trained by Mahncke's husband, Bob.
"The Mahnckes have bought a lot of horses from us with Gilt Bromac a big winner," Larsen said. Gilt Bromac has won 22 races and A$199,000.
Kiwi Rage, a 4-year-old by Falcon Seelster from Soky's Rage, had his other win for Bill Feiss, of Melbourne. Feiss had bought Kiwi Rage for $30,000 at the premier yearling sale.
