Visually-impaired judo will be included on the program for the inaugural European Games in Baku, Azerbaijan, next year.
Eight men will compete in a 100-kilogram (220 pound) category and eight women will compete in the 48-kilogram (105-pound) event.
Organizers say allowing visually-impaired judokas to compete will make the European Games the first continental games to "fully integrate" a Paralympic sport into its program.
The European Games are due to be held every four years.
