A million dollars worth of meth stashed in a courier parcel has been seized at the New Zealand border.
The 1kg package, destined for a Wellington address, was uncovered as part of Operation Vector - a joint investigation by Wellington police and New Zealand Customs.
Police said they had arrested an 18-year-old Chinese man living in New Zealand on a visitor's visa.
He will appear in Wellington District Court on Friday on charges of importing methamphetamine and conspiring to supply the drug.
Wellington police organised crime team head Detective Senior Sergeant Tim Leitch said the methamphetamine was concealed to try to avoid law enforcement, but Customs' vigilance and quality systems had led to another significant seizure.
