No-one was injured in a car fire at an east Auckland property this morning after it was initially feared someone may have been trapped inside.
Emergency services received multiple calls about the blaze on Millhouse Drive in Golflands, near Howick, about 6.30am.
A car outside a garage was burning fiercely and threatened to spread to the adjoining house, a Fire Service spokesman said.
There were reports of people inside the building but this was established not to be the case.
The fire was contained and a fire safety officer was investigating.
