A man is in hospital with moderate burns after a fire engulfed his two-storey Auckland unit earlier today.
Firefighters were called to the Mount Eden building just before 3am.
Fire investigator Neville Trevarton arrived shortly afterwards.
"The occupant was taken to hospital and remains there with minor to moderate burns and one fire fighter had minor burns,'' says Mr Trevarton.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
