A man has crashed his car off an Auckland motorway after suffering a massive and fatal heart attack.
The man's vehicle left the south western motorway near the bridge connecting Onehunga and Mangere Bridge and crashed into a fence at about 4.30pm this afternoon.
Police Northern Communications Inspector Chris Robinson said no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
Ambulance staff performed CPR on the man, aged in his 60s, as they transported him to Middlemore Hospital, but he would later be pronounced dead by hospital staff.
