Missing Auckland dementia patient found

An elderly woman with dementia has been found alive and well after she disappeared from an Auckland rest home.

Irene May McDowell, 83, disappeared from her Epsom resthome about midday yesterday but was found last night, said police.

She wore a tracking device that police followed but environmental factors interfered, said police.
