The murderer of 'Good Samaritan' Auckland man Austin Hemmings has failed in an appeal against his non-parole period.
Pauesi Brown was sentenced to life imprisonment with a 16-year non-parole period for stabbing Mr Hemmings to death in 2008.
Mr Hemmings was killed when he went to the aid of call-centre worker Diane Nonu in central Auckland.
The Court of Appeal has rejected Brown's appeal and confirmed the 16-year minimum non-parole period.
