A woman charged with assault following the death of a man in southeast Auckland yesterday has been kept in custody following her court appearance today.
Xiaoyan Hu, 31, was arrested following the death of the man in Willoughby Ave, Howick yesterday afternoon.
She was remanded in custody when she appeared in Manukau District Court today to reappear on December 16.
Police were called to the Willoughby Ave house about 5pm yesterday and found a critically injured man.
He died while being taken to hospital.
Police said the victim's name would be released once all next-of-kin had been notified.
