Auckland man dies after fight

Police are investigating the death of a man following a domestic incident in Auckland overnight.

Police and ambulance staff found the 44-year-old man dead when they arrived at a Mangere house just before midnight.

Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Lynch, of Counties Manukau CIB, said it appeared the man died during, or shortly after, a fight with a male family member.

The family was cooperating with police, Mr Lynch said.

Police were not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.

A post-mortem will be conducted to identify the cause of death.
