Police are appealing for anyone with information about a man who grabbed a teenage girl in a Blenheim street today to contact them.
The attack happened just after 8am, when the 15-year-old Marlborough Girls' College pupil was grabbed from behind while walking on Beaver Road.
Senior Sergeant Ciaran Sloan told the Marlborough Express the attacker fled when the girl screamed, and she did not get a good look at him.
The only description was that he was wearing black pants and a grey hoodie "with some sort of pattern on it".
Mr Sloan said the girl was being comforted by family. He urged anyone with information to come forward "Anyone who has seen this incident or recognises the description of the clothing, we'd desperately like to hear from them," he said.
