Peg Robinson, 89, of Cambridge, had the surgery last Thursday.
Mrs Robinson, who migrated 50 years ago from Northern Ireland, is expected to be discharged from Waikato Hospital today.
The first person successfully operated on, Noel Howard, 78, of Thames, remains in Waikato Hospital.
The procedure involves replacing a valve in the aortic artery through a small incision in the chest while the heart is still beating.
Ailsa Fleming, 86, was to have been the first person to have the surgery, but she died on the operating table because of a rare complication.
