Despite being based around an acoustic guitar and rustic vocals, there's still a chunkiness and smouldering quality to former Alexisonfire frontman Dallas Green's solo project City and Colour. This third album is another opportunity for him to indulge in a little meditative self-therapy through gently tormented folk songs. While the furrowed-brow act starts wearing a bit thin in places, Green splashes welcome moments of variety through the record in the form of electric guitars and synths.
