KEY POINTS:
The Black Caps have called on former Indian coach John Wright to help them prepare for the upcoming series against India.
The two squads have assembled in Christchurch ahead of tomorrow's tour opening Twenty20 international and Black Caps coach Andy Moles says Wright has been heavily involved with their preparation, identifying the India's strengths and weaknesses.
Moles is demanding more ruthlessness from his side as he feels they failed to capitalise on all their opportunities on the recent Australian tour. He says they have spoken about the need to take the game to their opponents whenever they get the chance.
Moles has identified a couple of areas where his side may hold the upper hand in the limited overs matches.
He says they have a batting line-up that can hurt anyone, with Brendon McCullum and Jesse Ryder heading what is quickly becoming a destructive line-up, and believes they can out-field the Indians.
Jacob Oram is back in the squad after recovering from a calf injury and will play as a specialist batsman in the Twenty20 series, while Ross Taylor is expecting to be fit for tomorrow's match.
Taylor has not played since the fifth and final one-dayer against Australia because of a hamstring strain.
He says he is making a steady recovery and was able to sprint at around 95 per cent on Saturday, but will need to undergo a fitness test before getting the green light.
Taylor rates India the world's leading team in all forms of cricket and is excited about the challenge of testing himself against the best. He believes his side's relative inexperience will be an advantage as a lot of their players are just going to go out on the field and express themselves.
