International passenger movement numbers through Auckland Airport were down 5 per cent in June from a year earlier, as a sharp decline in arrivals from China, Japan and Korea continued.
The reduction took international passenger numbers for the month to about 525,000, while for the year to June they were down 1.4 per cent to 7.36 million.
Arrivals from Korea were down 42.7 per cent for the month to 2665, those from China fell 49.7 per cent to 2553, and from Japan they fell 62.1 per cent to 2306.
In contrast, arrivals from Australia rose 14.3 per cent in June from a year earlier to 42,250.
Domestic passenger numbers were down 3 per cent in June to about 461,700, while for the year they fell 1.4 per cent to 5.65 million.
