Judge orders psych report for teen murder accused

A mental health report is to be prepared on a 15-year-old Northland girl accused of murder.

The girl is alleged to have fatally stabbed her 30-year-old sister at Ruakaka on New Year's Eve.

She was excused from appearing in Whangarei Youth Court this morning.

Judge Druce ordered a mental health assessment of the teenager, which will be discussed when the matter is before the court again on February 4.
