Erin Weston is one kid whose parents never have to tell her to take a jump. Their trouble is getting her to stop.
The Tahatai Coast pupil, who has just turned 12, is literally jumping for joy after returning from the recent Australian nationals in Brisbane with three medals.
In her second overseas trip in a year, Weston won silver in the A-grade synchronised and bronze in the double-mini and trampoline.
The pint-sized gymnast (pictured right) is eyeing next month's national championships, and a repeat of last year's title-winning effort, before heading to Holland in mid-September for the world age-group trampolining champs.
While in Brisbane, Weston broke two New Zealand double-mini records in the single pass and total score.
The world championships in Holland will cost her Papamoa-based parents $6000, although there will be a trade-off with a saving on petrol costs, with Weston travelling twice a week to train in Auckland.
Weston bounced at the Indo-Pacific championships last year in Canada, where she was fifth with Auckland partner Libby Cavanett in synchronised and sixth in the 11-12 years double-mini.
