The Bay of Plenty Cricket selectors have made two changes to the team that started the Fergus Hickey season with success at the annual ND one-day tournament in Taupo.
Northern Knights all rounder Corey Anderson has been selected and will play his first game for Bay of Plenty in the two-day fixture against Northland at the Bay Oval over the weekend.
The former New Zealand under-19 player moved to Tauranga during the winter off-season and will give the Bay a number of different options with both bat and ball.
Eastern Bay's Alex Yates, returns to the first team after several seasons' absence, on the back of an impressive performance for the Bay of Plenty Development side last weekend. The dashing top order batsman combined with Julian Danby to put on a second wicket partnership of 204, with Yates blasting his way to 105.
New Bay of Plenty senior men's team coach Ben Williams can be pleased with his side's performance at the annual ND tournament. Successfully defending moderate totals against Northland and Counties Manukau, and a one run loss to Hamilton courtesy of the Duckworth Lewis system, got the Bay side away to good start in their Fergus Hickey Rosebowl defence.
