In Katikati College netball's final games on July 2 and 3, before the two-week holiday break, the school's Senior B team took on Bethlehem College Reserve A, winning their game 38-24.
In a very tight game, Katikati College Development 1 overcame Tauranga Girls College Junior B by one goal, to finish on a score of 33-32. Player of the game was Zoe D'ath.
Katikati 7a team took out their game versus Tauranga Intermediate Development 1, 14-8.
Katikati Senior A challenged Bethlehem College League A but lost 43-24 and Katikati 8a also lost against Tauranga Intermediate League 4, by 28-22. Player of the game was Stacey Raynes.
After the two-week break, the teams were back in action on July 23 and 24.
In a Collegiate Premier Division 1 clash on July 23 at the Harbourside courts, Mount Maunganui, Katikati Senior A defeated Te Puke High School Senior A by 48-44.
One more win could see the Katikati College Development 1 team make the semifinals of the Collegiate Premier Division 3 grade, following their 28-23 win over the Tauranga Girls High School Junior 10 Development team.
Katikati College 8a lost to Otumoetai Intermediate 8b, 24-18.
Katikati College 8b lost to Mount Maunganui Intermediate Barbies, 22-18.
meanwhile, two Katikati College teams, 8a and 8b, took part in a Junior Harbourside Tournament on July 24, comprising of teams of Year 4 to Year 8 students, with games of two 12 minute halves.
In a close-fought encounter, the 8a team of Shannon Lloyd (captain), Kelly McPherson, Gaia Pini, Grace Diggelmann, Stacey Muir, Stacey Raynes, Amy Kirkland, Sally Konings and Bianca Ruegg, came up against Tauranga Intermediate League 3, and went down by one goal, with a final score of 5-4.
In Katikati 8a's second game against Aquinas College 8a, there were only two goals in it at half time with Aquinas leading 8-6. In the second, half, both teams scored six goals, but Aquinas won 14-12.
However, Katikati 8a lost against Bethlehem College 8a, 25-9, and Otumoetai Intermediate 8a, 23-3.
