She has also been on children's television show What Now for her singing and once auditioned for New Zealand's Got Talent, although she did not make it through.
She suspected this may have been because the talent show had more people applying from a wide variety of performing arts, not just singing. The fact she sang an original song may also have counted against her.
Auditioning for a show that was just about singing made Georgia think she had a better chance. "I do love the idea of the show and I think it's a great experience. I had some people saying I should audition and some people saying I shouldn't.
"The people who said I should were saying I'm a good singer, although I don't like to say that. The people who didn't want me to were saying to be careful because I like doing my own thing or writing my own music."
Country isn't Georgia's only genre. The Aquinas College student said she liked all music and was a fan of jazz and pop.
Her favourite singers are Dolly Parton and Katy Perry.
"My inspiration for music was learning to play the piano so I could sing Georgia On My Mind and as a teenager I love modern music."
Georgia also plays the guitar and the drums.
She wants to incorporate music into her life when she is an adult, but was not yet sure what form that would take, as she had other career interests.
"I love baking. I recently made my poppa a pigs in mud cake and I love baking cakes and cupcakes. I've invested quite a bit of money into that sort of thing."
