The woman who sufferred serious burns in a Whakatane incident yesterday has been transferred to the burns unit at Waikato Hospital today.
The 58-year-old was first taken to Whakatane Hospital in a critical condition, with burns on her upper body and face.
"The patient was transferred to Waikato Hospital -specialist burns - at around 1am this morning," said a spokesman for the Bay of Plenty District Health Board.
A man was arrested yesterday after the woman was found with serious burns and was fighting for her life.
