A woman has been injured after a car crashed 10m down a bank near Te Puke today.
Emergency services were called to Brown Rd, near Rangiuru Rd, at 7.50am to reports of the crash. There was an initial concern the driver might have been trapped in the vehicle, prompting the response from Te Puke volunteer firefighters.
However, a police media spokeswoman said the woman managed to get herself out of the car.
The woman suffered moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Tauranga Hospital.
The spokeswoman said the car had crashed about 10m down a bank.
