The Kmart Wishing Tree Appeal, now in its 20th year, will support Bay of Plenty families in need this festive season.
Kmart aims to collect more than 45,000 gifts during the appeal, which runs from November 13 to December 24, 2014, and the Bay of Plenty will play a vital role.
Last year Bay residents collectively donated an impressive 2,269 gifts, easing the financial burden of Christmas for many families.
"In 2014, we ask Bay of Plenty residents to dig deeper and help us to deliver more gifts and Christmas cheer than ever before. Help us set a new record and visit your Tauranga store, where there will be performance by The Salvation Army's musical ensemble and the Arataki Primary School children's choir. Rumour has it there will also be a special guest appearance from Father Christmas", Bayfair Kmart store manager, Forrest Worthen said.
To help the Appeal reach its target, Tauranga residents are invited to simply choose a gift that's suitable for the recipient's gender and age, and then place it under the trees located at Kmart stores the country over.
