The Red Party has put a big red bow on yet another one of New Zealand First's policies and tried to pass it off as their own. They have obviously realised that New Zealand First is the party with the policies that New Zealanders actually want, that's why they're constantly reading and lifting them from nzfirst.org.nz/policies.
It's great when people get on board with your ideas. You try so hard to present the various merits, but, at least in politics, it can be difficult to get others to agree with you. When they do finally see that you've made a good point it would be nice if they gave you credit. We're still waiting on our thank you card. I suspect we'll be waiting a while.
A private members bill has just been drawn out of the ballot in the name of the leader of the red Party and will be set for its first reading in the House at the next Private Member's day. The interesting fact is that this is yet another policy that the red Party have stolen from New Zealand First. We need to beef up security on our manifesto obviously.
It's called 'Our Work Our Future Bill' and comes directly from New Zealand First's song sheet, and is deeply embedded in our Labour and Employment Plan along with our Economic Plan. Essentially this bill seeks to put the employment of New Zealanders at the forefront of all decisions in hiring procurement matters, including when it comes to the Government, or in setting up new business and industry opportunities.
In the past year the leader of the red Party has attempted to claim New Zealand First policy on immigration and foreign ownership, youth training and employment, retaining the NZ flag, banning gangs, the universal student allowance, up front tertiary education investment and now jobs first for New Zealanders. I think it's time the red leader paid his New Zealand First annual membership subscription or at least acknowledged where his good ideas are all coming from.
