Sammy Abraham couldn't wait to get on to his bike and cycle on Tahatai Coast School's new cycle track for the first time.
The 5-year-old was one of the first pupils to ride the 500m long and 2m wide track, which the school officially opened today.
Sammy was all smiles as he zoomed around the asphalt track on one of the school's brand new bikes. His brand new helmet was strapped tight under his chin.
Principal Matt Skilton addressed the school before the red ribbon was cut to officially open the new track.
"We want our students to be active, fit and healthy. We want them to be challenged and have the best facilities all while being safe."
