Heavy rain is on the way for the eastern Bay of Plenty today.
According to the MetService, a low pressure system and associated fronts are moving east across the country, bringing periods of heavy rain to the ranges of the eastern Bay of Plenty.
Rain is expected to become persistent and heavy at times from around midnight tonight through to Saturday evening, possibly reaching warning criteria during this time.
