More than 3100 Tauranga homes are now warmer and drier since the National Government's Warm Up New Zealand: Heat Smart home insulation scheme began two years ago.
At a cost of more than $3.7 million, the homes had been retrofitted with new insulation and more efficient heating measures, such as heat pumps, Tauranga MP Simon Bridges said.
"This is fantastic news as we look towards another winter here. I'm pleased people are thinking ahead and getting their homes insulated now, because a warm, dry home can make a big difference to the health and wellbeing of our families," Mr Bridges said.
