Village Radio has fallen on hard times after changing its legal entity as a charitable trust to an incorporated society during the past year and desperately needs help to keep operating.
Village Radio chairman Steve Lambie said during the legal changeover vital fundraising deadlines were missed.
Despite some generous donations after the Bay of Plenty Times highlighted the organisation's plight, Village Radio was not "out of the woods", he said.
Mr Lambie said the Village Radio Committee met with Mayor Stuart Crosby, Deputy Mayor Kelvin Clout and councillor Catherine Stewart last month, and Mr Crosby offered council's help and advice in writing a business plan to enable the radio station to remain sustainable.
Village Radio is also holding a 'Dine and Dance' fundraiser at the Historic Village's Balcony Room on Friday, October 31.
