Two people injured in two-vehicle crash in Karangahake Gorge

Two people have suffered moderate injuries after a two-vehicle crash in the Karangahake Gorge tonight.

A police spokeswoman said police and emergency services personnel were alerted to the crash on State Highway 2 between South Rd and Waitawheta Rd about 7.38pm.

Police and St John Ambulance personnel were at the scene and the road was partially blocked but tow trucks were on the way to remove the vehicles, she said.

Two people suffered moderate injuries in the crash, and it was expected the roadway would be cleared soon, the police spokeswoman said.
