The identities of two local women charged in relation to the assault of a former Mount Maunganui woman, her partner and their male friend outside Bayfair Shopping Centre have been revealed.
Tauranga mother-of-three Lisa Marie Smith, 25, faced two charges of assault with a weapon, assault on police and a charge of common assault in Tauranga District Court yesterday.
Olivia Massey, 27, from Melbourne and her partner Hamish Fraser, who were back in town for a wedding, allege they and a male friend were viciously attacked outside Bayfair's main entrance early Sunday morning.
Miss Massey alleges that the two women pulled bottles from their jacket pockets, which were smashed over her partner and their male friend's heads.
Smith was remanded on bail without pleas.
She has been bailed on strict conditions, including a nightly home curfew from 7pm to 7am, a ban on consuming alcohol and is also barred from contacting her alleged co-offender.
