Emergency services are responding to a vehicle crash on State Highway 29 in the lower Kaimai Range.

NZTA Waka Kotahi advises that due to the crash, which is near Omanawa, the eastbound lane is closed.

“Caution is advised along this route,” said an NZTA spokesperson.

“Please follow directions of emergency services and allow extra time for your journey.”

Police said they were told two vehicles had collided on SH29 at 3.48pm.

No injuries were reported.

Police were also advised at 2.45pm a car had hit a power pole on SH29.

“It appears that the crash brought down the power pole/lines and there was subsequently a small vegetation fire,” a police spokesperson said.

“Fortunately, the occupants of the car were uninjured. As at 3.10pm an officer advised the road was not blocked.”
