Two Papamoa education facilities have been named as finalists in the 2014 Maori Language Week Awards.
Papamoa Kindergarten and Te Akau Ki Papamoa School were among 31 finalists in 13 contestable categories for this year's Nga Tohu Reo Maori awards.
The list of finalists was released today but winners will not be announced until November 7 at the Nga Tohu Reo Maori evening in Rotorua.
Maori Language Commission spokesman Gareth Seymour said it was good to see geographic representation in the finalists, especially with two from the Tauranga area.
"It's about celebrating and honouring the people doing the work in the field and the community," he said.
