The Telehealth Integrated Care Platform provides remote monitoring of a range of a patient's vital signs and health conditions in their own home. The service can track conditions such as heart disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetes and hypertension. The information goes to a clinical triage team for evaluation and action.
"We've been looking over the past 12 months or so to bring Telehealth here to complement our services," said Mr Murray, adding that the redevelopment of their previous office location had provided an opportunity to move to larger premises.
The company said the Telehealth system helped enhance the quality of life and clinical outcomes for people with long-term conditions, enabling them to stay out of hospital.
Tunstall Healthcare managing director Lyn Davies said she saw the relocation as important to the future delivery of Telehealth and connected care services.
"New Zealand has an ageing population that is continuing to grow," she said. "We are also seeing an increase in the prevalence of chronic diseases, similar to other Asia Pacific countries.
"Because of this, telehealth and connected care services are becoming increasingly important to the delivery of healthcare services for New Zealanders."
Tauranga City councillor Matt Cowley, who took part in last week's opening, welcomed the expansion of the Australian technology company in Tauranga and described Tunstall Healthcare as a "natural fit" for the city.
"We have a growing medical research and healthcare sector. We will also be New Zealand's first metro city with complete coverage of ultra-fast broadband. Tunstall is a great example of tech-based businesses creating jobs, rather than replacing them."
