The Trustpower TECT Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to Matamata at about 1pm this afternoon.
A 58-year-old male from Okauia suffered a serious medical condition that required immediate hospital care.
The rescue helicopter was met at a local park by a road ambulance and airlifted the man to Waikato Hospital for specialist treatment.
